Patchwork Prayers
This summer the SYF team went to South Dakota to work on an Indian reservation. That one week changed so many people’s lives—and those who went were blessed enough to be able to make a difference.
But one week isn’t enough and waiting one year to help is too long. We will continue to help throughout the year by making blankets so families can survive the harsh winters.
In forming Patchwork Prayers, we will make 6” x 6” squares, either knit or
crochet,
of 4-ply worsted weight yarn. These squares will be sewn together to form a
blanket.
The blankets will be taken to the Lakota Reservation by Rev. Laura Whitmore of
Simply Smiles.
If you have knitting or crocheting skills, or would like to learn, please contact Anita Volpe and see how you can make a difference.
Note: Any squares that you make can be left in the basket marked "Patchwork
Prayers" in Brooks Hall. If you don’t do needlework but would like to help,
donations
of yarn would also be appreciated. Thank You!
